Sarah Ann Cooper family papers
Abstract
Correspondence and miscellaneous papers of the Cooper family of Lancaster Co., Pa. Of particular interest are letters received from Aschel W. Cooper from New Orleans (1831-39, 1856, 1872, 1880) telling of his life in that city, Sarah Cooper's letter from Haiti (1855) describing her visit, and a letter from Hiriam T. to his sister (1847) regarding placement of her children. Also includes an advertisement of the Friend's Shaul Department of Cooper and Conard in Philadelphia (1884).

Biographical / Historical
Sarah Ann Cooper was the daughter of George and Sarah Walker Cooper of Lancaster Co., Pa. She was born in 1815 and married James M. Cooper in 1838. Their oldest daughter, Maria, was born in 1839 and married John R. Partenheimer. Sarah Ann Cooper's brother, Asahel W., was born in 1806, and Hiram T. was born in 1807.
