Biographical / Historical
Joseph Foulke Jr. was born to Joseph and Elizabeth (Shoemaker) Foulke of Gwynedd Monthly Meeting. Joseph Foulke, Jr. was a Quaker and worked as a wheelwright, was principal of Gwynedd Boarding School, and then earned his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1847. He worked as a doctor for the rest of his life. He served as a Clerk and then as an Elder for Buckingham Monthly Meeting.
