Lutheran Peace Fellowship began its institutional life as three separate Lutheran peace groups in the late 1930s and early 1940. Military Families Speak Out was formed by two families in November of 2002. It is made up of persons opposed to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan who have loved ones currently in the military, or who had served in the military since the fall of 2002. Membership in 2014 included nearly 4,000 military families from the United States and abroad.
