Photographs:3 photographs: Locust Hill (2) and inscribed carte-de-visite of John Greenleaf Whittier. "Locust Hill" near Yardville, N.J. was the home of Samuel Allinson, Jr., (1808-1883) from 1830. It was originally owned by William Allinson of Burlington, N.J. He bequeathed "Locust Hill" in 1841 to his nephew, Samuel, Jr., son of his brother, James Allinson. He left his property in Burlington to his other nephew, William J. Allinson who established a drugstore there. (notes on...
